Lee (1922- ) started playing Dracula
for Hammer in
The
Horror of Dracula (1958), Lee is pure evel
as Dracula . Chistopher Lee sent chills up our spines for many films to
come. When Dracula, Prince of Darkness
(1965) was released in Britain it had the distinction of causing the greatest
number of its audience to faint. Everyone would respond to Lee as he would
walk swiftly and deliberately across the screen with his cape flowing behind
him. No one played Dracula with the same imposing style and promise of
unmentionable desire,( both seductive and menacing at the same time).
This mask of Christopher Lee has been enhanced to depict Lee
as Dracula by sculptor Erick
Erickson. First it was painstakingly restored,
preserving all of the detail. Then the ears. and hair have been sculpturally
added . The hypnotic eyes with the unmistakable Christopher Lee snarl that
exposes the fangs. It gives me the creeps. You can even see his collar
and cape tie.
EACH MASK IS SIGNED AND NUMBERED BY THE ARTIST.
The mask is cast in Ultra-Cal casting cement, the hardest USG product available.
This mask is finished in Silver Screen Silver and rubbed with an antiquing
overlay to bring out the detail. This is a full scale 1 to 1 cast ready
to hang.
